Description
AMoRE is an underground experiment searching for the neutrinoless double beta decay of $^{100}Mo$ using cryogenic detectors based on molybdate crystal scintillators enriched in $^{100}Mo$. The next phase experiment with ~180 kg of $Li_{2}^{100}MoO_{4}$ crystals, AMoRE-II, is in preparation at the Yemi underground laboratory located at the Handuk iron mine in Jeongseon (Korea). In order to achieve the background level of $10^{-4}$ events/keV/kg/year, the materials of the set-up should be carefully selected on the radioactive contamination level. The materials for the shielding and the components of the detector tower have been measured using ICP-MS and HPGe gamma-spectrometry precisely. The results fed into Geant4 Toolkit to estimate the background conditions in AMoRE-II. We will present the radioassay results, background simulations, and estimated background levels in the AMoRE-II.
