Poster BSM searches in neutrinos Poster

Description

Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) are promising dark matter candidates that can self-annihilate into Standard Model (SM) particles with a probability ruled by their interaction cross-section. Indirect dark matter searches attempt to detect these annihilation products by looking for an excess of SM particles originating from regions where dark matter accumulates. Most structure formation models of our Galaxy predict a large over-density of dark matter particles in the Galactic Center, making it a good target for indirect searches. Being situated in the Mediterranean Sea, the KM3NeT neutrino telescope can detect an excess of neutrinos coming from this region as it offers good visibility of the Galactic Centre. An estimation of the sensitivity to the WIMPs interaction cross-section in the WIMP mass range between 50 GeV$/c^2$ and 100 TeV$/c^2$ is presented for the KM3NeT/ARCA detector in the configuration with six detection units.
