Description
Industrial Detector of REactor Antineutrinos for Monitoring (iDREAM) has been installed and commissioned in 2021 at Kalinin nuclear power plant (Russia), 20 m from 3 GW reactor core. iDREAM was designed to demonstrate the feasibility of antineutrino detectors for remote reactor monitoring and safeguard purposes. Antineutrinos are detected with a 1 ton liquid scintillator target via inverse beta decay on protons.
iDREAM is one of the few very short baseline neutrino experiments ongoing at a power reactor. Thus, the detector provides useful data not only for applied studies, but also for fundamental physics. Original design of the detector body together with passive and active shielding, detector filling and control systems, DAQ and trigger systems was tailored for iDREAM project. The stable response of the detector to the reactor antineutrino flux have been measured and results on the measurements of reactor power have been obtained.
