Description
The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) is a next-generation neutrino experiment under construction in China. Using 20 kilotons of liquid scintillators, its primary goal is to detect neutrinos from nuclear power plants and determine the neutrino mass ordering. As an observatory that will operate for the next few decades, it will also study interesting phenomena involving GeV neutrinos, such as in the search for diffuse supernova neutrinos. The understanding of GeV-neutrino interactions with the detector medium relies on the modelling of nuclear effects which are also crucial ingredients to understanding the signals of rare nucleon decays. Therefore, at JUNO, the Gev neutrino-A high-eNergY MEDium Effect (GANYMEDE) Working Group aims to understand the relevant nuclear medium effects with state-of-the-art generators; a large amount of GeV-neutrino interaction data from the accelerator-neutrino community are to be used to constrain their underlying models. In this poster, the status of the GANYMEDE working group will be presented, and the preliminary findings of expected high-energy nuclear medium effects at JUNO will be discussed.
