Description
ND-LAr is a modular liquid argon TPC detector which features a true 3D pixelated charge readout, a first of its kind. At the heart of the charge readout is the LArPix ASIC, a custom low-power chip that instruments 64 pixels at a time connected to the anode readout plane, facilitating large coverage requirements. Due to its modularity, a modular TPC has short drift times and is optically isolated, decreasing the number of overlapping interactions. A high-performance readout system for scintillation light will provide a nanosecond-scale timing resolution. Its novel design will allow ND-LAr to thrive in the high intensity environment of the DUNE ND Complex, where O(50) beam-related interactions can be expected per 10 $\mu \rm{s}$ beam spill. This poster will detail of the detector design, outline the successful and ongoing prototyping efforts, and report the status and future plans for ND-LAr.
