Poster Neutrino mass Poster

Description

Project 8 is a next-generation direct neutrino mass experiment with targeted sensitivity of 40 meV. Having established a new measuring technique, Cyclotron Radiation Electron Spectroscopy (CRES), the next phase will demonstrate CRES on a large volume, culminating in a first CRES experiment with atomic tritium gas. One of the possibilities studied involves a mode-filtered resonant cavity in which trapped electrons can only couple to a single mode. We will show studies of mode-filtered resonant cavities and the design of a small scale cavity CRES demonstrator. We will also show the concept for the first neutrino mass measurement on atomic tritium using the mode-filtered resonant cavity and a magneto-gravitational atom trap.
