Poster Atmospheric neutrinos Poster

Description

The IceCube Upgrade is an under construction next-generation detector extension of the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. The deployment of additional strings with improved photosensors at denser spacings than the current detector will dramatically enhance many of IceCube’s analyses, including atmospheric neutrino oscillation analyses, indirect searches for dark matter, and 1-100 GeV neutrino astronomy. New calibration devices will improve systematic uncertainties; notably those related to photon scattering and absorption in the South Pole ice which impact angular and energy reconstruction resolutions across the highest and lowest energy ranges to which IceCube is sensitive. This poster will provide an overview of the layout, design, hardware, and performance goals of the IceCube Upgrade.
