Description

The installation of the neutrino telescope Baikal-GVD started in 2015 and right now, already ninth and tenth clusters are being installed at the lake. It means that 2304 light sensitive Optical Modules already installed in water and measuring the Cherenkov light from relativistic secondary charged particles will be extended to 2880 OMs at the end of this April. Moreover, in the last few years significant progress has been done in the MC simulations, track and cascade reconstruction, coincidence search, data quality monitoring and automatized data processing as well.

In this contribution, the fast cascade reconstruction algorithm developed for online event analysis is going to be described. Mainly, the efficiency and precision of the noise hits masking, and of the positional and angular reconstruction obtained with the implemented algorithm is going to be given. In addition, some of the recent interesting reconstructed cascades are going to be introduced. The events from this reconstruction passing alert cuts automatically generates inter-collaboration alert messages that should be soon extended to the external ones.
