Poster Sterile neutrinos Poster

Speaker

Mr Supriya Pan (IIT Gandhinagar, Physical Research Laboratory )

Description

Results of experiments like LSND and MiniBOONE suggest the presence of an eV scale sterile neutrino. We investigate the resonance matter effect in presence of sterile neutrino and present the analytical expressions of the neutrino oscillation/survival probabilities using Δ21=0 approximation. These analytical expressions help us to understand better the existing degeneracies, e.g., hierarchy−δCP and octant−δCP with the inclusion of the sterile neutrino. We have studied atmospheric neutrinos in a Liquid Argon detector in the context of the upcoming DUNE experiment to examine the effect of sterile neutrino on the octant, and CP sensitivity.
